If you’ve been following my home tour posts, you will know that our house has come a long way since we first purchased it. While there are still a lot of projects yet to get done, I decided to give my hubby a break and renovate our half bath by myself. Let’s just say for a first timer, I did a damn good job!
I still need to hang the base molding, replace the door trim as well as adding a back splash before I can check this bathroom of our list of to dos, but I am happy with the change so far. Let me show you why.
You can’t tell by the before image but just imagine this salmon color on the ceiling as well. Instead I used Light French Gray- Behr. Its a neutral blue gray so a lot easier on the eye. (The Before photo was also taken before we closed on the house during the inspection.)
I tried oh so patiently to remove the builder grade mirror without tearing up the wall… P.S. Who the heck thinks gluing a mirror or anything to the wall is a smart idea? NOT ME!Isn’t this so much better than the salmon?
The contractors we hired to lay the flooring throughout the rest of the 1st floor didn’t remove the old vinyl flooring because it was glued. After much debate we decided it would be much easier to leave it in the bathroom as well… (I tried to cut it out but it wouldn’t budge.)We were going to save money and just keep the existing toilet until I realized it was more of a biscuit color and not white… ( I lie, I used that as an excuse to get a new toilet.)I’m looking forward to adding the finishing touches but for now we can use it again, so I am happy 🙂
So what do you think? Huge improvement right?
